Using Lens

Use Lens.org to search for patents that have cited your works. Lens.org is a specialised scholarly search engine that aggregates metadata and full text from a range of open access scholarly and open data sources. Major partners include CrossRef, ORCID, PubMed, OpenAlex, European Patent Office, United States Patent and Trademark Office, IP Australia, and World Intellectual Property Organisation.

Search Lens.org to find which of your works have been cited by patents.

  • Go to lens.org in your browser
  • Click on the Scholarly Works tab, and then click Structured Search

  • Click on the ORCID Lookup Author section, and paste your name or ORCID, click the Orange search button
  • Click on your name in the list of results
  • Click the blue Search button

The white tab at the top of the page will show:

  • The total number of your works that Lens.Org can find
  • The number of works that have been cited by patents
  • The number of unique patents that cite your works
  • The total of citations of your works made in the patents
  • The number of your works cited by other scholarly works
  • The total of citations of your works by other scholarly works

Click the totals on the white tabs to see details of the works and patents.

Export results using the Export option at the top of the list of results.
