Referencing is required in all university study. Referencing is giving credit where credit is due. When you reference you acknowledge the work of others and their contribution to the development of their ideas. Proper referencing also helps to avoid academic integrity issues, such as plagiarism.

The most commonly used style in your subject area is APA 7 referencing style, but you should check your assignment details on Study Desk or ask your Course Examiner what referencing style you should use for each assessment.
